How Small Is Soluble Silicon?

If a clay particle were the size of a basketball, a soluble silicon particle (like the ones in Quick-Sol) would be about the size of a BB — small enough to slip between the seams and start rebuilding structure from the inside out.

That’s what makes Quick-Sol different from most 5% silicon formulations. It’s ultra-fine, high-reactivity silicon doesn’t sit on top of the soil — it moves through it, unlocking pore space, releasing sodium, and restoring oxygen flow.

“Where other silicon products dust the surface, Quick-Sol dives deep.”

The Challenge Beneath Our Feet

If you farm in California’s Central Valley or other clay-rich regions, you know the struggle. Compaction, ponding, bicarbonate buildup — it’s a constant battle to get water and air into the root zone. Most inputs barely move the needle because they don’t alter the soil’s structure. That’s where silicon comes in — but only if it’s strong enough to make a difference.

Why Concentration Matters

Most commercial silicon products contain less than 5% soluble silicon, typically derived from colloidal silica or low-reactivity silicate salts. At that level, silicon acts like a minor supplement — it helps biologically, but it doesn’t change the physics of the soil. Our product, Quick-Sol is different. It delivers nearly 25% soluble silicon — five times more active material in a highly reactive form. That concentration produces measurable, structural change in heavy soils.

More silicon per gallon means more exchange reactions, more aggregation, and faster recovery of oxygen and infiltration.

What Happens in the Soil

When injected through drip irrigation, Quick-Sol releases H₄SiO₄ (monosilicic acid) — an ultra-fine, negatively charged molecule that slips between clay particles and begins to rebuild structure from within.

Step-by-step process:

  1. Displaces sodium (Na⁺) from the clay’s cation exchange sites
  2. Re-introduces calcium (Ca²⁺) and magnesium (Mg²⁺) to flocculate clay particles
  3. Forms silicate bridges that bond and stabilize new aggregates
  4. Opens up macropores for oxygen, drainage, and microbial activity

The Synergy: Silicon + Carbonic Acid + Bio-Oxygen Catalyst

The impact compounds when Quick-Sol is used in combination with our other products:

  • Growthful Pre-Emerge (carbonic acid) → dissolves calcium bicarbonate and releases free Ca²⁺
  • PC3 (Bio-Organic Catalyst) → oxygenates irrigation water, eliminates biofilm blockages and releases nutrients

Together, these products act as a complete soil restoration system — chemically, physically, and biologically improving structure and root access.

Field-Level Results

Growers have reported:

  • 2–5× faster infiltration within a few irrigation cycles
  • Reduced crusting and ponding at the surface
  • Deeper rooting in zones previously compacted
  • Noticeable increases in soil respiration and fungal activity

What began as a water treatment has become a soil transformation program.

“In high-clay soils, most silicon products barely scratch the surface. Quick-Sol opens the soil from the inside out.”

Andaman Ag’s Quick-Sol product delivers more than silicon — it delivers structure, aeration, and life.
