AquaVantage is a unique and patented starch-based superabsorbent granule, which acts to provide increased moisture availability to plants. It’s role or application is at new plantings when you can get the product down into the soil or as part of the soil. Applying the product as a top dressing won’t provide nearly the benefit for what the product is designed to accomplish. The product is all about maintaining moisture in the root zone and providing growers with the means to reduce the level or amount of irrigation as each AquaVantage granule absorbs over 500 times its original weight in water.

AquaVantage is the world’s most advance superabsorbent technology. It works similar to a sponge under the soil surface. It’s capable of hydrating and releasing water over and over again during a growing season. AquaVantage is composed of glucose molecules, which are linked together chemically to become a water-insoluble, net-like matrix that gently attracts and holds hydrogen molecules. The AquaVantage granules release just the right amount of water in response to a plant’s root suction. There is no waterlogging or other ill effects caused by ‘free’ water filling air cavities in the soil. As lack of water is a major abiotic stress to the plant, in theory the product maximizes plant growth by reducing plant stress as it improves absorption merely because you have available water as the transportation mechanism, it helps to release soil nutrients, water-soluble fertilizers creating a healthy microenvironment in the plant root zone. The result is faster germination, quicker emergence of seeds, consistent growth and higher, better-quality yields of with less water and fewer inputs. AquaVantage lasts in the soil for approximately one year depending upon the level of microbial activity or soil organic matter. As a starch, it ultimately becomes a food source for the ‘good’ bacteria in the soil. AquaVantage is environmentally friendly, easily biodegradable and odorless.
